
The project, “Youth for Sustainable Tomorrow” together with IM Swedish Development Partner as a technical partner aims to empower young people to spearhead youth-led projects that foster an atmosphere in which they can actively engage to promote social, economic, and climate justice. Their proactive involvement encourages collaborations with Local Governments and other likeminded organizations. Youths are provided with knowledge, skills, and capacities to improve their abilities so they can question harmful social norms and practices and behaviors that jeopardize harmony in society. They are sensitized on issues of community that are harmful to its development such as human rights abuses, and social injustices. Similarly, they also participate in engaging dialogue with the policy makers and decision makers to promote youth-led initiatives for influencing youth-friendly plans and policies for institutionalizing good governance. Furthermore, they are able to leverage partnership with local government for generating innovative ideas to tackle challenged to achieve climate justice, social justice, and economic justice.
The goal of the project is empowered youths are accelerating sustainable change in their communities in Dang, Salyan and Kapilvastu guided by objectives which aims to:
- To strengthen the capacity of youths in leadership, advocacy, and movement-building so they can challenge harmful norms, discrimination, and injustices in their communities.
- To enhance civic engagement and accountability mechanisms by fostering meaningful youth participation in local governance through shadow governments, youth learning labs, roundtable discussions, and mock parliaments.
- To promote partnerships and organizational development that enable youths to advance social, economic, and climate justice while ensuring transparency, accountability, and sustainability.
