Yuwalaya as a Secretariat for Girls Not Brides Nepal is leading the project “Increased awareness regarding the adverse impacts of child marriage and meaningful progress towards achieving the goal of a child-marriage free Nepal” with Girls Not Brides- The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage, seeks to contribute to the national vision of ending child, early, and forced marriage (CEFMU) in Nepal. The project is being implemented at the federal, provincial (Sudurpaschim and Gandaki), and local levels (all 753 local government) ensuring comprehensive outreach and multi-level engagement.

The overall goal of this project is to contribute to strengthened policy framework in Nepal that enables complete eradication of CEFMU. However, the specific objectives of the project are:

  • To work towards systemic change at the three tiers of government in Nepal, addressing CEFMU in the country.
  • To utilize knowledge, learning, and evidence to address child, early, and forced marriage (CEFMU)

The project spanning from November 2024 to December 2026 aimed to reate meaningful impact through collaborative action with government bodies, civil society, and community stakeholders. It directly targets 600 primary beneficiaries, while also reaching 900 secondary beneficiaries, creating a wider engagement that promotes awareness, accountability, and collective responsibility towards achieving a child-marriage free Nepal.
