Nepal’s 1st Ever Young Women-led CEDAW Shadow Report

On 3rd of February 2025, National Level Dissemination of Young Women-led CEDAW Shadow Report was organized in replacement of National level consultation on National Youth Policy activity due to the government has initiated the process for endorsement by collecting feedback from stakeholders but the endorsement has not yet been completed. During the event, shared key findings and recommendations with stakeholders, amplified young women’s voices and strengthened their advocacy for gender equality and accountability in national and international human rights mechanisms. The event was facilitated by the young women champions and technically supported by the consultant.

Nepal’s 1st Youth-led UPR Report

On 20 June 2025, National Level Workshop on Youth-led UPR Report validation was organized with the participation of youth, youth-led organizations, consortium members, CSOs and government stakeholders. Gathered valuable feedback from diverse stakeholders. INSEC and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) have committed to incorporating youth-specific issues and recommendations in the UPR report they are preparing and for the first time, youth issue was incorporated in the UPR Report including 39 recommendations submitted by the NGOs national coalition led by the INSEC. Youth-led UPR Report was finalized and submitted to the UN OHCHR in solidarity with 71 organizations. 

Youth Learning Lab Fellowship

The Youth Learning Lab serves as the space for the young people to gain the hands-on skills, share ideas, and carry out the initiatives. This platform can foster creativity, leadership, and peer learning. The Youth Learning Lab was initiated in the fellowship model with 15 fellows under the 5 themes: Social Justice, Climate Justice, Entrepreneurship, Digital Literacy, and Political Literacy. The major activities carried out under the fellowship are: expert talk, peer discussion, case study, survey, and field visit. Total of 15 fellows were selected for the fellowship (3 in each theme).
